To Non-Members

We do not advertise the exact when and where of our hikes to non-members.  This is to ensure that everyone showing up at the trailhead is aware of the club rules and that their dogs are reasonably well-trained.  In order to get a schedule of our hikes, you must first join the club. So please don't write and ask when the next hike is unless you're a member.

Club Rules

  • Dogs MUST remain leashed and under control at all times. A standard 6' leash is recommended (no Flexi-leads). Anyone intentionally releasing a dog during a CCH outing will automatically be dropped as a club-member, and will not be welcome on any further outings.

  • Common trail courtesy includes removing your dog's droppings, by scooping or kicking them off the trail, whichever is more appropriate for the area.

  • Carry adequate water (1 qt. Minimum) for both you and your dog. Don't forget a bowl or cup.

  • Humans must wear hiking boots on all hikes (unless stated otherwise in the schedule). This is for your own safety, as well as that of the club. Sneakers or running shoes do not qualify.

  • Your dog should be up-to-date on all shots and should wear ID tags on all the hikes.

  • No Smoking either on the trail, or at the trail-head.

  • Dogs must be well socialized. Owners of dogs that are overly aggressive either to other dogs, or to other hikers, will be asked to leave the hike.
